Over the weekend, I had two friends over for a sewing night. They both have a pretty vintage style and are well-versed in vintage patterns. I figured there was no better time to make my first vintage pattern!

Men’s Sewing: Classic Gym Bag
StandardAt the beginning of the year, I set myself a goal of making Brandon 6 projects throughout 2018. When I asked Brandon what he would like, one of the things he asked for was a small gym bag. He was looking for something just big enough to carry a change of clothes and sneakers.
Rose gold (faux) leather jacket: Sewaholic Cordova
StandardI went out of my comfort zone with this rose gold faux leather jacket. Metallic jackets are having a moment, and I’ve made this pattern before, but as much as I wanted it to work, this was not a successful pairing.
In pursuit of the perfect pencil skirt: Simplicity 1559
StandardThis seems crazy, but I’ve only made one skirt in the past two years. 2016 and 2017 were all about pants: Itch to Stitch North Point Trousers, Hudson Sweatpants, Style Arc Sadie Pants, Ginger Jeans, and Colette Clovers. This year, though, I’m going to get back into skirts. I want to find the perfect pencil skirt pattern and sew up a work wardrobe full of them. Continue reading
