Back in 2015, I travelled to Ireland to present at the Society for Longitudinal and Lifecourse Studies conference in Dublin Castle. While I was in Dublin, I wandered into a fabric shop and bought this luxurious black and white printed fabric (content now unknown). I knew I wanted to make a dress out of it, so I bought 3 yards, but it took me 2 years to build up the courage to cut into it.
Happy first day of fall! This dress is my first fall make of the year. I received the pattern (Butterick 6168) for my birthday in August, and was able to make it up in time for the start of fall.
Two of my good friends got married last weekend. I knew for months that I wanted to make a dress to wear to the wedding, but I couldn’t decide what I wanted the dress to look like for a very long time. Being in March, I knew it would be cold, but I wanted a short dress that would be more versatile to wear again. I’m not the one getting married after all.
