Adventures in Knitting: Harvest Cardigan
StandardI knit a sweater, ya’ll! Over the summer, my (future) sister-in-law and I agreed to knit our first sweaters at the same time. Becky has been knitting much longer than I have, and she’s the one who originally taught me how to knit, so I felt honored to be able to help her push her knitting boundaries a little bit.
Work wear: NewLook 6123
StandardI’m finally catching up on blogging all of the makes from my fall sewing plans. This is the only dress of the bunch. It’s my second version of NewLook 6123. The first version was my dissertation proposal defense dress.
In pursuit of the perfect pencil skirt: Simple Sews Wiggle Skirt
StandardIn the second installment of my quest for the perfect pencil skirt, I’ve gone back to a classic. This is the wiggle skirt from the Two-in-One Skirt Collection by Simple Sews. I’ve made this pattern up twice before: a floral stretch cotton sateen version in May 2015, and a goldenrod version out of upholstery fabric in October 2015. The floral version is still in my closet, but I broke the zipper on the second version an decided that it wasn’t worth fixing. Both of these skirts are fine, but the fit wasn’t perfect so I wanted to see if I could improve on it.
