Every year around this time, I look forward to reading fellow blogger’s recaps of their makes of he past year. Thanks to Crafting A Rainbow, many bloggers post their top 5 hits and misses of the year. Here are mine.
I hurt my achilles training for a marathon just over two years ago. The shirt I’m wearing in these pics is actually from that marathon that I did not run. I injured myself too close to the deadline to give away my registration, and had already paid for entry, so I made sure to at least get my shirt. Since then, I’ve been slowly but surely working my way back to running. Just this month I’ve been able to run 3 pain-free miles.
My new year’s resolutions are normally pretty lame….floss everyday, exercise three days a week, you get the idea. This year, though, I stepped it up and resolved to not buy any clothes in 2015. My goal was made with the intention to reduce my consumption, and lessen my reliance on/addiction to fast fashion. (See more about my thoughts on why I sew here.) Here we are, at the end of 2015, and I wanted to check in with how I did.
I made this bag for a very special person…my college roommate of all four years. We were randomly paired up freshman year and managed to stick together for all of college. We had our ups and downs, as all roommates do (I know who ate all of my brownies that one night…), but we’re closer now thanks to it. After she saw the Senna Tote that I made myself last year, Sarah asked for one of her own. Something that she could show off to her classmates, I think she said.
