If you follow me on Instagram, or have been taking a close look at my photos here on the blog, you may have noticed that I recently adopted a puppy. She is now about 4 months old, and has already doubled in size since we’ve had her. Say hello to Zambi!
Welcome to the second installment of my summer baby collection! This may be my favorite kids’ make yet. It’s The Purl Bee’s Summer Romper for Kids, and I made it for my 2 1/2 year-old niece.
I spent last weekend at my mom’s. She likes to sew, but typically doesn’t make time for it, so I decided that we were going to have a sewing weekend. As you can see, we made pajamas!
What do you get when you combine leather, an exposed zipper, and some floral print? A badass toddler dress, that’s what. Welcome to the first installment of my summer baby collection!
Seamwork is a new online sewing magazine by Colette Patterns. It features sewing stories, ranging from techniques to personal stories, to sewing tours of cities around the country. In every issue, they include two quick patterns, designed to be made up in just an hour or two. Each issue of the magazine is available for free online, and the patterns are just a few dollars each for subscribers. I think it’s a great concept, but I haven’t been interested in many of their patterns yet. I subscribed for a hot second just so that I could buy this pattern. It is the Mesa Dress is from their June 2015 issue. It’s basically a tee-shirt dress with a wide neckline, short sleeves, and small side slits. It is advertised to take just an hour to sew. Boy, did it take me longer.
